Ishida Launches Automatic Weighing Solution for Fresh Meat

Screw-Feed-Multihead-Weighers

Press Release

Ishida Europe has extended its range of solutions for the weighing and packing of fresh, sticky products with the introduction of a new range of ‘Screw Feed’ multihead weighers, which allows the fully automatic handling of these types of products for the first time.

The new models are particularly ideal for meat, poultry, fish and seafood, which cannot be moved by feeder vibration, or where manual product feeding is not economically viable.

Because of the very sticky nature of these products, most current weighing systems are either manual or based on a linear design that relies on operators to direct and control the supply and flow of product. The Ishida Screw Feed design, by comparison, utilises the familiar circular multihead weigher layout but incorporates unique rotating corkscrews to replace the traditionally used radial feed troughs. The use of these screws provides a powerful, controlled and fully automatic product feed to the pool and weigh hoppers.

Ishida has developed two screw feeder models. The first features 3 litre, stepper motor driven anti-stick metal hoppers and is particularly suitable for larger target weights and larger piece size applications, including on-the-bone products. It has a top speed of 80wpm.

The second version incorporates 1.5 litre pneumatic driven plastic scraper hoppers with a maximum speed of 60 wpm.

Both models incorporate the unique calculation processing software of the Ishida R-Series. Ishida says they will easily double packing speeds for the stickiest products, while significantly reducing giveaway thanks to their outstanding accuracy

As a result, weighing speeds and accuracy show an improvement of approximately 20% compared with the best linear weighing systems, says the company.

A user-friendly Remote Control Unit (RCU) allows ease of set up and changeovers to minimise downtime, and provides detailed production information.

“The new Screw Feed weigher range is another innovative approach to fresh food weighing,” explains Paul Griffin, Ishida Europe’s Marketing Director.

“In particular, the machines are ideal for the dedicated weighing of two or three products. It means we now offer the widest variety of weighing solutions for fresh products, enabling us to tailor our equipment to meet individual customer requirements.” Website: www.ishidaeurope.com

AddictedToPhones asked:

One of the newer phone from Sony Ericsson. Very similar to the S500i. There′s a shake control feature. I haven′t figured out how to use it yet, I know it changes the track number and stuff when I shake the phone, but somehow it didn′t work when I tried. Anyways, I personally like how the W580i feels; it’s more solid. The phone is $364 each which includes a 512MB M2 Memory Card. Use Google Checkout and get $5 off your order; use coupon code SE5. You can get more info on our site http://www.addictedtophones.com/product_info.php?cPath=2&products_id=139

Sony Ericsson GreenHeart Concept

September 29, 2008

(0) Comments

The GreenHeart is a new phone concept from Sony Ericsson, which has a similar design with the Sony Ericsson W880 phone. The handset features bio-plastic casing and keypads that can be easily recycled. The GreenHeart does not come with a manual book because the user’s manual is entirely HTML-based to save paper. I think it is a great idea to save the Earth. In addition, it has a battery charger which is automatically turn off when the phone’s battery is fully recharged. [SEMC Blog]

Microsoft Phone Data Manager syncs with Windows Mobile, S60-based phones

September 29, 2008

(0) Comments

It looks like Microsoft has somewhat conceded to the fact that there’s larger piece of the pie out there as far as mobile devices go, and Windows Mobile is just diminishing portion of it.

They’ve released the beta version of their new Phone Data Manager software which, aside from syncing Mobile Windows running devices, also plays friendly with a host of S60 2nd and 3rd edition based phones as well. Unlike Nokia PC Suite, the Data Manager stores all your contacts online through Windows Live Contacts which means you’ll have to create a Windows Live account if you don’t already have one. The good thing about that is if ever your PC suddenly crashes, all your phone’s contact will be saved online and you can simply access it once you hook up to the internet. Other phone contents such as music, pictures and video are saved on the PC only for now.

What the Phone Data Manager lacks in comparison to Nokia’s data sync software is the ability to save settings and messages, but I guess the doors are still open to accommodate such features in the final version of it. Sounds interesting? It’s free to download so do try it out and tell us what you think about it.

Sony Ericsson releases GreenHeart concept phone

September 29, 2008

(0) Comments

Doing their share to come up with more environmental friendly devices (and to probably to get some approval points from Green Peace as well), Sony Ericsson has revealed their very first GreenHeart concept phone.

It features a chassis made of bio-plastic materials, recycled plastic keypads, HTML based manuals, a zero charger with 3.5mW standby power and environmentally conscious packaging. Yeah, it all sounds good and all for the environment, and I must say, the phone doesn’t look bad either. My only contention with all this propaganda that Sony Ericsson is doing is that it’s not commercially available. What good is an eco-friendly phone if the public isn’t using it?

Oh well, maybe they’ll release it to the market by next year, but for now, I’ll give them an A- for effort. The A+ grade will come when it does get offered to the public already.

BeeJive iPhone app now available

September 29, 2008

(0) Comments

Those waiting for the BeeJive IM app to become available via the App Store need not wait any longer. This multi-talented and versatile app is now live and available through iTune and the App Store. Unfortunately, while we’re happy to hear about its release to the public, the $15.99 price tag is a bit of a disappointment. I find it a bit too steep for such an app, but that’s just me. If you think it’s worth every penny, you can buy the BeeJive app now, or as one reader suggests, there’s a way to use it for free.

Just sign-up for the service, save the web page as a Home page icon and there you go, BeeJive for your iPhone at no cost at all.

Google’s concept phone allows call canceling without lifting a finger

September 29, 2008

google_phone_concept_ZTFc8_1333
Designer: Eduardo Altamirano Segovia

As far as concept phones go, this one has got to be the most unusual amongst the ones we have seen in quite a while. For starters, it’s a Google Android Phone concept. And if that fact wasn’t enough to make it outlandish already, then its bizarre curved-like-a-vase front frame will have you cringing for sure.

What’s Innovative?
Featuring an OLED screen, the G-Phone concept also features an accelerometer that can detect the handset’s position to help you hang up a call or choose “yes-no” or “up-down” options without lifting a finger, which sounds a tad weird because the curved surface of the phone apparently is suppose to enhance the interaction of the screen’s center line with the user’s thumb.

Sony Ericsson’s new phone is green at heart

September 29, 2008

(0) Comments

se-greenheart-zero-charger_tNyPr_1333

Designer: Sony Ericsson

For a phone made from recycled materials, the Sony Ericsson GreenHeart concept cellphone is one good looking gizmo. The concept isn’t being thought of as a production-ready option (not yet at least!) but since SE are showing it off to industry partners and customers, in a bid to develop and design its features, we’re guessing the basic idea behind the green phone might be seen in Sony Ericsson handsets in times to come.

What’s Innovative?

Fitted with bio-plastic casings, recycled plastic keypads and a zero charger with 3.5mW standby power, the GreenHeart phone is perhaps as green as it gets without making the whole thing with wood. What’s even better is that the company has come up with HTML based e-manuals instead of traditional printed ones, and environmentally conscious packaging to ensure that the phone remains environmentally sustainable throughout its life cycle.

Status: Not designed for production.

Micro Flying Saucer Brings Aliens Indoors

September 29, 2008

(0) Comments

Cool R/C helicopters, cars and planes are dime a dozen these days which is why I like the look of this R/C UFO. This is the Micro R/C 4-Channel Flying Saucer, not much bigger than your spread fingers, and sporting 4 propellers to get this mini alien craft aloft in your home. To stop it crashing into your expensive new HDTV on its inaugural flight, there′s a solid-state accelerometer. The accelerometer sensors tilt on two axes and adjust the power of each propeller to keep the Flying Saucer rock solid in the sky. The 4-channel control allows you to move directly forward, reverse, left or right and you can even rotate in place, move up and down – just like all those movie UFOs. And let’s not forget the flashing light. After all, what good is a UFO without flashing lights? It costs around £60 here and is good for 5-7 minutes of flight between 20 minute charges.-Martin Lynch ufo gadget fun

Chrysler Unveils GEM Peapod ‘Neighbourhood’ Electric Car For 2009

September 29, 2008

(0) Comments

When we think American cars we tend to picture petrol-guzzling ships on wheels and, for the most part, we are right. The green car push in the US is being led by celebs but is a long way from reaching mere mortals. Chrysler though is extending its early GEM cars with a big push next year, led by this tiny little green run-around called the GreenEcoMobility Peapod electric car, or GEM Peapod. It is a bit better than the original name – Chrysler LLC’s Neighborhood Electric Vehicle – but not by much. It’s a striking little number and it’s aimed at those who spend most of their time making very short journeys – school, shops, etc. Those of you driving one child to school around the corner in a massive 4 x 4 take note. Inside, the centre console offers iPod integration as well as hands free operation of your iPhone. The mesh seating is made from eco-friendly recycled materials and offers better air circulation, apparently. Just don’t plan on any ambitious overtaking as the top speed is a puny 25mph and the range is just 30 miles per charge, which takes 6-8 hours. Still, they go into production next year and there will be larger versions with more capacity and greater ranges. Interior shot below. -Martin Lynch car electric driving
