AC/DC Shuns iTunes: Real Rockers Buy Albums

Aussie rockers AC/DC have given iTunes the thumbs down for the release of their new album, Black Ice. The band, which has not released anything since 2000, is planning to release its 15th studio album through Walmart, its Web site and other retailers. iTunes rocking AC/DC fans though will have to get it elsewhere because the band hates the idea of people buying singles online, which they think is killing off the album format. “Maybe I’m just being old-fashioned, but this iTunes, God bless ‘em, it’s going to kill music if they′re not careful,” lead singer Brian Johnson, 61, told Reuters. “It’s a…monster, this thing. It just worries me. And I’m sure they′re just doing it all in the interest of making as much…cash as possible. Let’s put it this way, it’s certainly not for the…love, let’s get that out of the way, right away.”There are 15 songs on “Black Ice″ which apparently stick closely to their signature bluesy rock riffs – that means like pretty much all the albums that have gone before. And remember, oddness goes hand-in-hand with lead singer Johnson whose dislike for recording studios meant he recorded his vocals from a mic set up outside the studio at a receptionist’s desk. That’s rock n’ roll.-Martin Lynch [Source] music ac/dc itunes
