PixelJunk Monster Patch Coming Soon – Details Divulged (Trophy Support!)

This game seems old now, but in a really good way. To me at least, this game will go down as one of the classic PSN games for the PS3. In some ways, I hope the PixelJunk guys publish it out (and their other games) to the Xbox 360 eventually, as they are missing out on one of the best downloadable games available. However, it’s good to keep some games exclusive for competitive reasons.

Associate Producer of SCEA Santa Monica Studios, Matt Morton, has posted details on the PlayStation Blog regarding a patch coming to PixelJunk Monsters (PJM) and its expansion pack, Encore. Here is a quick list of the changes/additions:

  • Ability to choose game difficulty level
  • Set the default tower menu selection (no more accidental selling thankfully!)
  • Tower balancing included with Encore now applies to both islands (Ice Tower researched and longer Tesla Tower range)
  • Video recording and YouTube upload
  • In-game XMB custom soundtracks support
  • Last and by no means least is Trophy Support

For anyone worried about the Trophies being retroactive, they aren’t. But don’t fret! The Trophies have been implemented in the form of new challenges, so there is no need to try and beat the game all over again.

The patch is due out 23 October in Japan and (hopefully) 30 October everywhere else.
