iPod Breathalyser Tells You When You’re Sloshed
Despite the Department for Transport advising that motorists consume precisely no alcohol before driving, people still do and the portable breathalyser has seen some success on this basis alone. I bet you never thought you’d have to blow into your iPod to see if it’s safe to drive though, but the latest accessory for Apple’s player, called the iBreath, requires that you do just that. Utilising a small fold-out blower simply puff into the attachment for two seconds to get a reading on your current level of intoxication in mg per 100ml (80mg or 0.08 is the legal limit). Thankfully that’s not all it does – the iBreath doubles as an FM transmitter to send tunes to a car stereo which goes some way towards justifying the rather expensive £55 price tag. It has apparently already proven popular with celebrities eager to stay out of the headlines for the wrong reasons during the festive period. No news on whether you can receive your results in the form of music – we’d suggest “Too Drunk To ****” by BuckCherry for a negative and “Driving Home for Christmas” by Chris Rea if all is well. – Paul Lester [Telegraph] iPod breathalyser accessory
