Bell BlackBerry Storm release delayed?
It looks like the road to the release of the BlackBerry Storm on Bell is proving to be quite a bumpy one as news is trickling in that it might probably won’t make it on the supposed December 15 release date. Based on the latest available info, it’ll most likely debut after Christmas which will certainly disappoint aspiring owners planning to get it as a well-deserved gift for themselves.
Here’s what BGR’s source had to report about the current situation in Bell land:
We are being told to take down all promotional P.O.P. (point of purchase displays) for the Storm and are being advised to expect a delay in Storm shipments. They did not say how much of a delay but managers are being advised to start making up sales through the current Bell line up for the Christmas season as we may not see the storm till after the Christmas rush. (Which if the last few years are any indication we usually consider the first 2 weeks of January apart of the Christmas/New Year rush)
We are also being told to stop taking names for “waiting lists” and that in the near future we may need to start contacting these current “wait list” clients to offer them new solutions.
Sad news indeed, but we’re hoping that whatever is causing the delay will eventually get settled so that the Storm can at least be made available before the year ends.
As far as Telus is concerned, we’ve still not heard any news regarding the release date of the Storm. However, if the announcement regarding the price of the Storm across the different contracts is any indication of its status, we figure that they’re just ironing out some small details before finally pushing through with its big outing.
