I finally bought a game for my mobile the other day. I could have tried out the newer themed games like Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa The Mobile Game or Eagle Eye. But no, I decided to opt for the classic, Tetris.

The theory behind choosing such a timeless classic was not only the fact it has been around and loved for years, but also because it is a puzzle game. To me the best kind of games for mobile phones and especially smaller phones like the Nokia 6500 Classic I played this game on. This may not be the case for the newer and smarter phones like the iPhone, which utilise motion, sound and vibration feedback.

So I played Tetris for a bit, until I got bored of rotating little coloured shapes. I can honestly say I don’t think I will want to spend over a fiver (£5) on one these games ever again. It wasn’t that it was bad, it just wasn’t good either. Plus, if I deleted the game now, other than the money, I wouldn’t miss it at all, which suggests it wasn’t worthy enough to me.

I’m sure there are some good games out there, but when I think I can get a game for my PlayStation 3 for £9.99 I find it hard to justify spending a few pound less for something that probably took 3 days to make.
