Frankly speaking, I had never expected such a beautifully designed handset from Lenovo, but it’s right here to impress us. This is Lenovo’s Android phone called OPhone. OPhone is basically a codename for phones, which will be based upon China Mobile’s OMS (Open Mobile System) that is essentially Android + TD SCDMA (China’s home-grown 3G standard). Featuring a hardware QWERTY, the OPhone features good looking dot buttons just below the display. This Android-powered touchscreen handset will come with support and applications for the carrier’s TD-SCDMA 3G network. Unfortunately, I don’t see any chances for the OPhone to cross the Chinese boundaries.

It would be really interesting to lay this handset side by side with the T-Mobile G1 for a comparison later, when we will have the detailed specifications.
