How long before that could happen? Also, is the default splash screen which appears when you stop a movie (the various shades of blue and white) less likely to get burnt in permanently?

It’s not on the wall or close to a hard surface, it’s sitting on a glass stand in the corner of the room but it’s still too loud.

My plasma tv has one 29-pin DVI input where as Yahama receiver has 1 HDMI output (I’m assuming I can find HDMI to DVI cable …) In this case I think I’ve to run seperate audio cable from yamaha receiver to TV and then from receiver to home theater speakers.

Has anybody done research on such things earlier? Which option will give me better picture quality? My TV is 50” plasma with native resolution of 1366×768
