Apple has already filed a patent for Swipe Gestures for the iPhone keyboard and it seems RIM is also visualizing a new keypad design. RIM has filed a patent for a new type of full QWERTY keyboard that features two hinges. The keypad is a normal alphanumeric keypad till you open the two hinges to make it work like a QWERTY keypad. Well, I would say that’s a real weird patent by RIM. I don’t think it will be comfortable to work with the kinda hanging keys. Moreover, who needs a transformer BlackBerry?
