Stream Your PC To Your PS3

Although media streaming has been on the PlayStation 3 for a while now, a new product called Display Share is bringing more functinality to the concept. This new kit, which is currently only available in the US and will set you back $50.

You might be wondering what the point of buying this software is, especially as you can already stream from PC to Ṕ for free. There are several added benefits to using this software. Because the kit streams your actual PC display you can use the PC to run all kinds of software such as documents, video formats not supported by the Ṕ and DRM protected media tied to your PC.

The only limitation appears to be a decidedly large lag between the PC doing an action and the video coming through. So real time activities such as gaming are impossible at this time. Unfortunately that is the one major reason I would want to pay for something like this. So i can play PC only games via my PS3. For now it might be down to Linux and virtual networking then.

The company, Golden Signals, has stated an Xbox 360-compatible version is on the way but no expected release date is given.
