It’s back to the cat and mouse game. Apple has just released iPhone OS 3.1.3 for the iPhone and iPod Touch which, apart form addressing several issues, also puts these particular devices back into its pristine jailbreak-free mode.

iPhone OS 3.1.3 update

Both Geohot, maker of the famous blackra1n iPhone jailbreak, and the iPhone Dev Team have announced that their current jailbreak tools don’t work on this new firmware which also shuts the door on the possibility of unlocking any iPhone 3.1.3-powered device.

If jailbreaking isn’t your thing, then by all means, go ahead and hit the update button now as this latest iPhone firmware update should resolve the problem with certain third party apps that won’t launch in some instances. iPhone OS 3.1.3 software update also improves the accuracy of battery level reporting on the iPhone 3G S. If by chance manage to discover any other improvements, do hit us up in the comments section below as we’d certainly love to hear it.
